Adult Education

Adult education, unlike elementary education, is a process by which adult learners engage in sustained and systematic self-educating actions to acquire new forms of learning, skills, attitude, or values. Adults who have grown up in a society that has a predominant emphasis on education often have the cognitive and motivational resources to pursue various courses of adult education and to absorb new information. Adult education involves adult learning at both the college and university levels and also at the trade school and other vocational schools. 

Adult education programs are designed to assist people to become well-rounded consumers by preparing them for work and for further education. They offer courses of study ranging from associate's degree courses to more specialized courses for employed people and other professionals.
